When Ron Pierce was ready to launch his Tampa political consultancy, he didn’t have to cast far for a name: RSA Consulting combines the initials of Pierce, his wife Stephanie and his son, Andrew. “Family is the entire reason I do what I do, and I wanted to reflect that,” he explains.
Pierce has been an influential figure in Florida public policy for more than a quarter-century. The Brandon native earned an English degree from Florida State and an MPA from the University of South Florida. He began his career working in the Florida House of Representatives, later serving as policy adviser to the Senate president.
Moving out of the public sector, Pierce led government relations at the Tampa Bay Lightning before launching RSA. In 16 years, he has grown the firm to ten employees, with over 90 local, state and national clients – and by 2019, RSA was recognized as Florida Politics’ “Boutique Lobbying Firm of the Year.”
In addition, Pierce teaches state and local politics at his alma mater, the University of South Florida; he also serves as board vice chair for the Florida Association of Lobbyists and is a past board chair of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce.
“Our success is not driven by one person,” he says, “but by the culture we have built over the past 16 years. I love that every day brings new opportunities and challenges.”
